About me

Welcome!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Texas and I have been working in a counseling field since 2015. I have experience providing individual, couples, family and group therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have worked with clients presenting with depression, anxiety, relationship and family issues, adolescent concerns, as well as personal growth, addiction issues, and crisis.

I earned a Masters degree in Counseling at Southern Methodist University and received my bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal Communication from Pepperdine University. I completed my coursework towards both Texas Licensed Professional Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy licensure at SMU. My education and experience have imparted a well rounded view of the human psyche which can often be heavily influenced by our families of origin and current relationship landscapes.

My therapeutic style emphasizes multiple scientifically-supported approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. These modalities provide the framework to help us to determine what is most important to you as well as evidence based techniques to help you fulfill your life's priorities in a timely and meaningful way.

Lastly, our client-therapist relationship is a partnership which requires mutual trust, respect, honesty, communication, and commitment to do the work. I sincerely look forward to the opportunity to walk beside and support you on your journey!

The amount of gratitude I have for Jacquelan is hard to articulate. Over the course of a year and a half, she helped me uncover and process aspects of my past and present that were holding me back from being the person I wanted to be. In our sessions, she made me feel validated and understood, while continuing to provide an intelligent and honest perspective. She is thoughtful, deeply caring, and creates a space of openness at every session. I could not speak highly enough of Jacquelan!

Jacqueline has been amazing. I have been seeing her for almost two months. I feel very heard and understood when talking with Jacquelan. She helps me really pin point and process the exact emotions that I feel and validates them in such a positive way. Its my first time in therapy, and I was definitely a skeptic coming into it, but she has opened my eyes to how beneficial it can be. I always look forward to our sessions each week.

My first two sessions with Jacquelan have been extremely helpful and healing. Ms. King is an excellent psychologist, she is great at listening and helping you think reasonably and rationally through situations and problems. She displays a vast knowledge and expertise in the way she communicates and conveys information.

Jacquelan is incredible. Her ability to listen and to help me recognize and understand my own thought patterns are amazing. I couldn’t recommend her enough and I can’t put into words how happy I am that I’ve had the chance to work with her
