I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Texas and I have been working in a counseling field since 2015. I have experience providing individual, couples, family and group therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have worked with clients presenting with depression, anxiety, relationship and family issues, adolescent concerns, as well as personal growth, addiction issues, and crisis.
I earned a Masters degree in Counseling at Southern Methodist University and received my bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal Communication from Pepperdine University. I completed my coursework towards both Texas Licensed Professional Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy licensure at SMU. My education and experience have imparted a well rounded view of the human psyche which can often be heavily influenced by our families of origin and current relationship landscapes.
My therapeutic style emphasizes multiple scientifically-supported approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. These modalities provide the framework to help us to determine what is most important to you as well as evidence based techniques to help you fulfill your life's priorities in a timely and meaningful way.
Lastly, our client-therapist relationship is a partnership which requires mutual trust, respect, honesty, communication, and commitment to do the work. I sincerely look forward to the opportunity to walk beside and support you on your journey!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jacquelan King. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Jacquelan is incredible. Her ability to listen and to help me recognize and understand my own thought patterns are amazing. I couldn’t recommend her enough and I can’t put into words how happy I am that I’ve had the chance to work with her
Jacquelan is absolutely amazing!
She has been able to pull me out of my darkest places!
Jacquelan is warm and kind, and extremely perceptive. In just two sessions, she has led me to some fascinating revelations about myself and my marriage. Jacquelan has given me faith in therapy that I did not have, thanks to previous negative experiences. I am looking forward to working with her more!
Jacquelan has been a tremendous help in me resolving issues of my past but providing valuable insight and advice. I’m incredibly grateful to her for having made my journey to a better me easier and smoother. I might have been able to get here on my own but no where near as successfully and easily as I have been able to. Thank you.
Jacquelan is wonderful! I had been dealing with a lot of things on my own for a while and I finally realized I wasn't able to handle everything by myself. Jacquelan is so great at listening and helping me work through all of the stuff I am dealing with. She asks me really good questions to help give me perspective and gives me a lot of tools to apply to my life, relationships, and mindset. I would still be struggling if it wasn't for her!
She has given me hope
She’s very professional and always has really good advice and explains things to me in ways that make it great for me to process and understand. I feel respected, comfortable, heard, and over all, definitely already having positive results from just the short amount of time with her so far. Definitely would recommend to anyone and already have.
I've had many therapy experiences in my life - Jacquelan is by far the best therapist I have ever had. She listens to me without judgment, she's extremely helpful in helping me identify what's bothering me and providing helpful tools to work through those issues. I feel like she knows me better than I know myself sometimes, and we've only been working together for a few months. My ability to stop anxious thoughts before they spiral out of control has never been better and that is 100% thanks to Jacquelan. 10/10 would recommend her to friends and family.
Very reassuring! Making my first therapy experience great.
It’s only been two weeks with BetterHelp and I can already see and feel the benefits. I am especially thankful to have been match with Jacquelan, who lets me talk as much as I want, listens intently, and offers insight and perspectives I had not yet considered - everything I need during this tumultuous time. She provides worksheets and articles in between our sessions and has never once rushed me through our hour together. I can’t wait to see what else we can get done in the future!
