I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California with over eight years of behavioral health experience. AVAILABILITY: I have limited availability here on BetterHelp and only accept a handful of clients at any given time. Most of my therapy clients are seen in my separate online private practice. For the time being, my available session days are generally on weekday evenings and weekend times (Monday-Friday from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm, Saturday from 2:30 pm-5:30 pm and 6:30 pm-8:30 pm, and Sunday from 2:00 pm-6:00 pm). These times may change at any time. My online schedule will indicate my availability for each week. Session duration is typically 45-50 minutes, but can also be requested for only 30 minutes. The typical frequency of sessions tends to be bi-weekly. Other session frequency options, based on my availability, are weekly, tri-weekly, or monthly. However, for new clients, I recommend starting with weekly sessions for the first 4 weeks before moving to bi-weekly or less. Feel free to message me anytime. I generally check messages at least twice daily and will try to respond, as appropriate and necessary, as quickly as possible within a 48 hour timeframe.
CANCELLATION & NO-SHOW POLICY: It is important to understand that when a client books an appointment that time has been set aside and dedicated to the client by the therapist. Please provide at least 24 hours advance notice if you have to cancel an appointment. I understand that things sometimes happen where this is not always possible; therefore, if after three times a client cancels with less than the 24 hour advance notice (LATE CANCELLATION), I may choose to terminate services and the client may have to switch to another counselor/therapist. The same applies for no-shows. THREE NO-SHOWS and or THREE LATE CANCELLATIONS and services with me may be terminated. By the same token, if I need to cancel or reschedule with a client, it will be rare for me not to provide at least 24 hours advance notice.
ONLINE/SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY: I do have an online presence and participate on various social networks in my professional capacity. If you have an online presence, there is a possibility that we may encounter each other. If that occurs, please discuss it with me during our time in session. I believe that direct communications with clients online have the potential to compromise your confidentiality and the professional therapeutic relationship. Therefore, I do not directly communicate with, or contact, any of my clients through social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn. Because my online presence is professional, you may choose (but are not expected) to follow me. However, I will not follow you in return. If I receive any "friend"’ requests or requests to connect from any therapy clients, I will not accept. If I discover that I have accidentally established a direct online relationship with you, I will cancel that relationship. In addition, please do not try to directly contact me online or through social media. I will not respond. If you have anything from your social media life that you would like to share with me, then please bring it to our session where we can explore it together.
