About me

I am an United States Army Veteran; I served 9 years total, including one year in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004. After completion of my tour in the US Army, I decided to go to pursue my degree. I attended UNC-Greensboro and earned my bachelors degree in Social Work, and attended The University of Chicago for my masters in Social Work. Currently, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) serving US Military Veterans.

Before I started my work with Veterans, I worked with children, families, and adults addressing issues ranging from career choices, relationships, substance abuse to parenting. I also work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, ambivalence, anger and challenges coping with life changes. bI am trained and certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Health Coaching, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Processing Therapy.

My counseling style consists of: Motivational interviewing to determine how motivated you are regarding the goals that are most important to you. I also utilize tools from health coaching to acknowledge barriers and how to strategically overcome them.

The theoretical approaches I draw from are Person in Environment (PIE), Ecosystems Theory, Transactional Analysis Theory, and Transtheoretical Model. PIE and Ecosystems Theory are helpful with gaining an understanding on how your environment, family and friends are affecting your decisions. Transactional Analysis Theory is helpful with changing the behaviors that are hindering you from achieving your goals. Lastly, the Transtheoretical Model is helpful for accessing where you are currently in the stages of change and prioritizing goals.

I invite you and/or your loved one to achieve your best mental and social health journey starting right where you are.

Dante has been most helpful in talking me through life’s ups and downs. He is experienced and insightful when it comes to the human condition, and guiding me into helping myself through life's tough situations. I am thankful to have someone with his life experiences on my coaching team.
