About Me
Hi, I'm James Greenwald, a licensed professional counselor located in Dallas. I have over 5 years of experience as a counselor and mental health clinician, with a wide and diverse variety of therapeutic experience working with clients from every background imaginable. My counseling degree came from Dallas Theological Seminary (2012), and I've seen clients in settings including private practice, hospitals, schools, crisis scenarios, and even prison systems. I utilize cutting edge techniques and treatment methods from dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, family systems, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I’m skilled at wading into real life pain and struggles including conflict patterns, depression, anxiety, anger and irritability, bereavement, self-doubt, directionlessness and indecision, fear and insecurity, and suicidal thinking. I work with individuals and couples who are struggling and need support, hope, and a helping hand in becoming self-aware.
Counseling isn’t a promise of fixing life’s problems, but it is a place to gain skills and intuition to face what the world throws at you with confidence. Therapy provides a safe space for people to confront life and work toward becoming the best, thriving versions of themselves. I invite you to come explore vulnerability and self-acceptance with me - let's figure out how to help you become the best version of yourself together.

He's really nice and understanding, someone you can easily talk to.
He’s highly intelligent, patient, and enthusiastic about what he does. He’s been the one and only therapist I have ever been able to work with for as long as I have

Fantastic therapist! Helps me in so many ways.
James is fantastic. He’s really been so helpful as I’m processing some really tough stuff. He’s never once made me feel judged and gives me excellent advice and tools to get better. There’s still lots to be done, but I’m thankful for his help.
Thank you
James is a great guy and a good listener.
Amazing counselor, so glad I got him as my first match. Does a really good job of listening and helping me work through my problems in ways that I wouldn’t have thought on on my own. I’ve been through a lot of counselors in my lifetime & I’ve never connected with another like Mr.Greenwald. 10/10 recommended!
