James Julian

About Me

Hi! I am Jim Julian and hold a doctorate in General Psychology and am licensed in the state of Connecticut. It has been my pleasure to work with people who might have more personal distress than they wish to handle alone. My treatment approach can vary from person to person depending on their wants and needs. However, I am a Humanist at heart and have a positive view of human nature. Therefore my approach could be from a person centered therapy perspective where we establish a trusting and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship. where we try and separate the person and the problem. However, I can also switch to another area of humanism known as cognitive -behavioral therapy where we could examine a person's way of thinking and viewing the world. In the final analysis I am here to help people. and welcome anyone who wants to examine their life, behavior, or relationships. Thanks so much for reading this and I look forward to meeting you.
Jim

James Julian has been counseling me for a few weeks now and he is nothing but polite, respectful and helpful to my situation. He listens and gives great advice not only for the topic on hand but for life in general. He is very positive and motivating and always checks in to see how things are going. He is always easy to talk to and hasn't judged me or anything so two thumbs up for James Julian.

James is aways replying to me very quickly, giving me very practical advice, and he is also quite respectful. I have gained so much confidence from his encouragement. And hopefully I could continue my therapy with him soon again.

Jim has been wonderful in helping me deal with anxiety. He's responsive and non-judgmental. I'm a very harsh critic of myself and he works hard to establish a safe place for you to be upfront. Highly recommend.

I have had the honor of working with Dr. James Julian here on BetterHelp. It's the first time in a long time I feel like there is hope. The BetterHelp site has given me a format that works for me to get the help I need. Dr. Julian has been amazing and so insightful. He really listens to what I have to say. For the first time in years I feel like there is hope for me. That depression and anxiety doesn't have to rule my life.
