James King

(LMFT, M.Div., MA)

About Me

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Pennsylvania and have 15 years of counseling experience. I’ve worked with individuals, couples, and families, providing counseling and guidance to help them with many of life issues, such as depression, anxiety, conflicts, relationship issues, as well as self-identity and self-esteem problems. I hold an LMFT from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, as well as an MA in Theology and Pastoral Ministry from Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora, NY. I bring to the table a sense of humor, wisdom and insight into helping my clients get through their particular issue and help them obtain good mental health, well-being, peace and happiness. My counseling philosophy has been built by not only my education and counseling practice, but a diversified experience of life itself, having been a construction worker, a high school teacher, a youth minister, a corporate executive and a college professor. I approach clients without judgement and try to meet them where they are and move them forward with insight and compassion. My methods are basically humanistic and client centered, using techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy. I look forward to working with you.
