About Me
Hardly anybody I know aspires to be that average, center-of-the-bell-curve person. In different ways, we all deviate from the norm, which explains our own uniqueness. My aim as a therapist is to work with individuals, couples, triads, and families in a way that celebrates their uniqueness and "incurable deviance." By meeting you where you are, with who you are, in a way that makes best use of your unique strengths, hopes, dreams, and quirks, we can work together as client(s) and therapist to help you address your current challenges, get lots more of what you want, develop skills, transform, and explore new choices available to you.
I am trained in a variety of approaches and integrate them in a way to best serve the individual client with therapy, counseling, and coaching services. My trainings and certifications include Mindfulness/Insight-based therapies, ACT, EMDR, Clinical Hypnosis, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Solution-Building Couples Therapy, Focusing, Metaphors of Movement, Provocative Changeworks, and NLP. In session, you'll find my counseling style to be warm with lots of curiousity about how you experience both successes and challenges. I will sometimes lead you to unfamiliar places in order help gain insight into what you came to get help for, as well as to help find the differences that make the difference necessary for meaningful change.
It takes courage to begin therapy and coaching. My experience is that once you begin, you'll experience changes immediately. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and if we're not a good fit I will help you find someone who is. I am an ally to LGBTQ folks and am kink and poly aware. I welcome adult clients of all faiths and embrace spirituality in service of healing and change without utilizing a specific religious tradition in my approach to counseling and coaching.

Mr. James Nichols is excellent. I have recommended better help to two other friends. He offers me insight into alot of things I rather choose to ignore or haven't thought of myself. Great guidance and a gentleman I look forward to talking with once a week for information on how to better myself.
Vet nice and understanding
Jaime is great! He truly fosters a space for me to express myself and simultaneously challenges me to think outside of the box. Thoroughly enjoying this process!
I’ve only had 2 sessions with Jaime but I feel comfortable enough to be open with him without fear of judgement. He started offering me tools t from our very first session and I found them to be helpful. I look forward to continuing on this healing journey with him.
Very good listener, has helped me with my determination to become healthier mentally and physically. Great person.
Great counselor!
Hes a good listener and very good at asking the right questions. The methods he uses are unique and not used a whole lot, but thats why i like him. Very outside the box with his approach. A+ highly recommended.
My experience with James Nichols has been excellent so far. He makes me feel very comfortable sharing my thoughts, feelings and fears. He is very helpful with resources and aids. I would highly recommend him.
Jaime is the first therapist I've ever met with so I really wasn't sure what to expect. He made me feel very comfortable and I was so impressed with how he was able to give me tools to manage my anxiety starting in our very first session. He helped me answer difficult questions that I have been avoiding for a long time and learn to look at my past and current struggles with a new lens. I would definitely recommend counseling with Jaime especially for anxiety, relationship and family issues, shame struggles, and personal growth overall!
