James Perry, LPC
About me
Hello! My name is James “Jim” Perry, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (and Board Certified Supervisor) in Oklahoma, married for 36 years to the love of my life (who is also a Licensed Therapist). I have several years of experience in the field of mental health and also worked at a psychiatric inpatient hospital in the Oklahoma City area. I primarily work with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, career issues, relationship and marriage problems, and other life challenges that often get in the way of “just doing life”. I also work with couples having intimacy issues or marriage problems, and helping career professionals who are experiencing work related problems.
My approach is to develop a very relaxed, non-threatening, non-clinical therapeutic relationship with my clients in our private practice office located here in OKC, and online. I recognize that the first step to a better life is often the most difficult, especially when it seems terrifying to jump out of your own comfort zone. I help my clients to take that first step by simply starting a conversation about what your life is like, what you would like your life to be like, and how you can get there.
I completed my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology in December of 2014. I also have a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Education, which I utilize in my work along with career minded professionals. Over the past 11 years, I have worked in various sectors in the field of mental health, including working with clients experiencing mild to severe mental health issues in both outpatient and inpatient settings. In addition, I recently acquired my certification as a Sex Therapy Informed Professional in early 2025.
I would welcome the opportunity to walk through this time of life with you.

I really enjoyed my time with James. He helped me discover a trigger from my past that I didn't know was there. Understanding the why and how was a big deal for me. He provided me with the resources and support I needed to gain new insights, adopt new habits and develop new skills. I am my better self because of him. Thank you so much!

James has been very helpful with navigating my interior monologue & seeing situations for what they currently are. I look forward to his perspective and my outlook after our sessions.
