About me
I am grateful to be able to tell you about myself as a Counselor. I am licensed in Texas with 25 years of professional work experience. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. I have had the opportunity to work with clients coping with addictions, coping with grief and loss, anger management, & motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. I also have extensive experience working with clients who are on probation, parole, or recent release from incarceration due to self-destructive behaviors and decisions. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
My focus is to assist the individual to identify and learn about the mental health issue being experienced or the behavior and the effects and consequences that are presented. I work to enable the client to learn from and about the effects of the mental health concern or the behavior and make different choices and plans for change. This is done through assisting the client in discovery of their strengths, building a support systems, education, and exploration of the struggles or behaviors associated with the mental health concern as well as developing healthy lifestyle choices that are the foundation for success. I also incorporate the client’s spiritual beliefs into the treatment protocol to thoroughly address their needs.
I have a strong passion, utilizing a client centered approach to assist my clients through motivational interviewing, cognitive behavior therapy, therapeutic education and thought processing to accomplish this change and growth. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started! I want you to know that it would be a privilege to work with you in your journey of growth. Just allow me the opportunity to talk with you. Let’s see if there is a way that I may be able to help you.
