Jamie Brown

About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker, in the state of Delaware, at Brown Well-Being LLC. I received my Bachelor's degree, in social work, from Delaware State University and Master's degree, in social work, from the University of Pennsylvania. I have been in the Social Work field for over 10 years, providing prevention and intervention services to youth and their families. I work with people with and without an official mental health diagnosis; I treat the person and their situations, not only the symptoms. I specialize in working with youth, young adults, and parents dealing with life stressors, parenting, anger, anxiety, grief, trauma, self-esteem, and other emotional or behavioral issues.

What can you expect from therapy with me?
I have a straight-forward, sympathetic, and open-minded therapeutic style. I provide a whole-person approach to therapy, integrating mental, physical and spiritual well-being. I can help you with learning how to use healthy and helpful ways to navigate through life challenges, develop a positive mindset that helps you build on your best qualities, and improve your resilience and change your views about yourself and/or the world.

It takes courage to seek help for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Jamie has been a wonderful resource in working through a recent death in my family, and my anxiety and depression. She offers concrete coping skills and asks great questions to understand your situation and needs. I would highly recommend her!

As with everything/everyone in 2020, I was at a breaking point. I was hesitant at first because I’ve never done virtual counseling but fortunately, got matched with Jamie. Jamie always made it easy to communicate in every way (chat/voice or vide call). Even though it felt like life threw punches harder by the day, my weekly live sessions with Jamie allowed me to unload, be heard and sort of compartmentalize my thoughts on what my next move is which prevents me from unproductive & negative behavior (ruminating & innately spiraling in existential crisis). On top of that, she checks up on me and we can leave messages to each other throughout the week which was incredibly helpful. I honestly don’t believe the last 2.5 months could’ve been the same without her guidance. What was only a few months, I felt like we’ve been talking for MUCH much longer. She understood what I needed. I didn’t think I could’ve progressed the way I did in the last couple of months without her. Working from home and seeing my fiance every day, he’s noticed a great deal in how I handle stress and conflicts in a way that is healthy for me & my relationships. I notice the difference & feel it too. I’m so grateful for Jamie! She’s a wonderful person & you can feel the care she puts in helping you achieve what you need most.

Jamie has been a great resource and influence in my confidence building. She always keeps it real and helps me to really identify my strengths and weaknesses. I appreciate her always holding me accountable and giving me motivation through the week. Well worth any money! Thank you Jamie for always being there when I need somebody to tell me I can do it.

Jamie is incredibly supportive, a great listener and after two sessions I already felt confident in her professional expertise! I truly feel she is invested in my well being and helping me meet my personal goals. She is readily available through the BetterHelp app and reaches out to keep me accountable.
