Jamila Woods is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with well over 20 years of practice experience in a variety of settings including academia, behavioral health, substance abuse, medical social work, family services, community-based & wrap around services and private practice. She received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Houston Graduate School of Social Work in 2006. Her expertise is in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, family conflict, grief & loss, and life transitions. During her post-graduate work she conducted research on improving treatment adherence among persons with chronic mental illness with the use of telemedicine. Ms. Woods is an active member of both the National Association of Social Workers and the National Association of Black Social Workers. Ms. Woods is compassionate towards helping persons who are under served and disadvantaged and these guiding social work values continue to be a driving force in her career.
