About Me

People visiting this page are usually considering counseling, which often takes a lot of courage. It frequently means they are somewhat distressed, which is a motivator to make changes and contributes to success in therapy. My clients have expressed that I'm warm, supportive, sincere, easy to talk to and have a sense of humor, while encouraging them to set goals, evaluate their strengths, resources, feelings, thinking and consider changes. My name is Jan Hagesfeld-Bohinc, LISW-S and I'm working with adults.

My areas of specialization are grief/loss, depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, aging, caregiving and, dementia. I have chosen to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy because research has shown it to be effective. Our first two sessions would be video for 45 - 60 minutes, scheduled close together, allowing us to get to know each other as well as getting started on helping you to feel better. Following appointments are primarily video for 45 minutes; live chat, messaging and phone are also options. My appointment times are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, with occasional flexibility.

I'm deeply impressed with the resilience of the people I've worked with during my 20 plus year career, and am in awe of what people can accomplish. Its impressive that you are willing to get more information and consider talking to someone. I'd like the chance to collaborate with you on your journey to feeling better.
