Hi, I'm JanaLee and I am a licensed independent clinical social worker with nearly 30 years of experience assisting individuals, couples, and families adjust to life transitions. I have worked in a variety of settings including a member of a medical team, palliative care, home-based primary care, outpatient clinic, and management of a private practice. I've worked with individuals facing a wide range of challenges including depression, anxiety, PTSD, chronic disease, abuse, shame, and grieving.
My specialty is in working with life transitions and trauma. Life is ever-changing and sometimes you find yourself dodging curveballs. Transitioning after completing college, ending a long- term relationship, getting married, or even getting older and retiring can be a challenge. Whether the life change is a good one or not, it can cause stress. This can often lead to anxiety or depression as one struggles with finding value in their new life roles. Finding your way back to normalcy after trauma can be confusing and frightening. You find yourself going through a range of emotions and feeling lost. I walk side by side with you in each of these situations to find peace, contentment, and value within your life.
My therapeutic approach is relaxed and catered toward each individual’s needs and learning styles. I believe in exploring each individual in a holistic fashion, considering the influences within their lives including relationships, emotional and physical health, and spirituality. We then work together to determine which modalities of treatment feel right for you and your situation, matching your personality and learning style.
I understand it takes courage to ask for help. I invite you into a safe place to begin the process of healing. When you are ready for that next courageous step, I will be here for you.
I look forward to getting to know you and your story as we work together to enhance your life. Contact me today to schedule an appointment.
