Gandhi said "Be the change you wish to see." I believe that change comes from commitment and dedication to improving oneself from the inside out, however, there are times when everyone needs a little help. I have 10 years of experiencing working with individuals and family and I incorporate cognitive therapy, person-centered therapy, and mindfulness approaches for a more personalized experience. I have lived between Alaska and Louisiana, really enjoy an outdoor lifestyle, and getting to know people. I have my doctorate degree in counseling psychology and am licensed professional counselor (LPC) with the state of Alaska, Louisiana, and Washington (LMHC). I am a nationally certified counselor (NCC), a master of addictions Counselor (MAC), as well as, a registered play therapist (RPT) with the Association for Play Therapy.

Dr. Richard is exceptional! My first phone session with her was great! She had me thinking about issues in ways that I would never on my own. It was refreshing to have someone explain things in a way that I understand.
Janece is fantastic. I always feel valued when I'm speaking with her. She hears my concerns and cares for me.
Dr. Richard has been very helpful! She makes me feel like my thoughts matter and that I have a right to feel the way I do.
Dr. Richard is a great sounding board for issues I'm working through. She's someone I trust and her guidance helps me move forward.
Very helpful - not pushy.
Besides being well educated in psychology and well experienced in counseling, Janece has a true gift for counseling. She's a "Hurt Person Whisperer." She knows on a deep level what I'm feeling, going through. She is empathetic, yet directed in her responses to me with good ideas and other ways to think about situations and feelings. I hope you appreciate her as much as I do.
Janece was very helpful to me when I was in a couple months of personal crisis. I really appreciated her positivity, and commitment to clarity in my path forward.
Janece has helped me identify my troubling thoughts and patterns and is helping me defy that. She is kind and gentle, and knows her stuff. I'm happy to have found her, and I'm glad she's my counselor.
Janece Richards has been so supportive and genuine, she has really helped me through a difficult time in my life.
Janece was able to meet me where I was in my mental health. I appreciate her not wasting time and offering exercises that have helped tremendously. I also appreciate her validating my feelings and helping me to keep things real. Thank you.
She's a great listener. She provides me a strong backboard to think through issues.
Ms. Janece Richard is well-rounded and very understanding, and she gives fact and great advice when you as individual are up against something challenging. She gives all perspectives that you may face, but her answers and results are carefully thought-out and beneficial when it comes to critical decisions.
Janece is non-judgmental, kind, thoughtful, and has a sense of humor.
From day one she helped me better myself and figure out my problems. I recommend her to anyone looking for a very good counselor!
Janece really is warm and knowledgeable. She quickly created rapport and was able to draw out the root of my problems. She responds quickly and thoroughly to messages, and you can really tell that she's interested in the conversation .
Very responsive and doesn't have her own agenda of what she thinks you should do or what is wrong. Very open-minded.
Janece is the best! She's been very supportive and has provided excellent advice. She always responds in a timely manner and I feel very comfortable confiding in her.
Janece Richard is always available and ready to help. She has been very insightful.
Feedback. I think the best feedback is that I am still here. I feel attended to. I do not feel like a test subject. I think we are moving along well, in the right direction. She checks in with me regularly, which is very comforting and serves as a mindfulness reminder to my efforts - which probably helps more than anything else. I am optimistic that we can work together for a good long time. It is early and I am impatient but I have been trying at this long enough to know it takes a lot of time. I am happy that we were paired either by luck or by talent. Talk to me again in a couple months.
She has been very non- judgemental. She's just been very open with me and has helped me get to the root of my problems.
