About Me

Hello! My name is Javai I am a therapist licensed in Washington, D.C. with over 10 years of varying experience working within the mental health field. As a therapist I have worked with both children and adults with a wide range of concerns including: depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, relationship and self-esteem issues, parenting-child relationships, career challenges, and ADHD.

My therapy style is warm and engaging. I believe in treating everyone with respect, empathy, and compassion while I understanding that life experiences affect our perspective. Understanding your personal, cultural, and religious or non-religious beliefs are important. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral therapy, problem-solving, and a strengths based perspective. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

I started working with Javai during one of the most stressful and difficult times in my life. She helped me prioritize what was important and keep a long term outlook without succumbing to the overwhelming stress that I was experiencing. She has been very helpful in reframing how I was viewing my life and also providing tools for me to be more grateful and appreciative for what has been going well.

Javai is supportive and empathetic, and is really helping me understand myself so I can confront my stress and anxieties.

Javai was an incredible resource. She gave the skills necessary to work through my anxiety. She was never judgemental. She always listened. I feel much more prepared going out in the world knowing I have the skills from Javai than I did before.
