About Me

My name is Jay Burrows. I received my Master of Social Work from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2013. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Pennsylvania. I also hold Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Certified Clinical Supervisor certifications. The majority of my experience is in drug and alcohol counseling, with 9 years experience in the drug and alcohol field. My approach is firm but compassionate. I promise to always "keep it real" and tell it like it is. It's because I care, and also because although everything will eventually be OK, you have to realize the problem and put the work in for it to turn out OK. I consider myself open minded and non judgmental. We all have problems and can all benefit from someone to openly talk to. I strive to be that person. I look forward to meeting you!

Jay has helped me through some really tough times. He’s real, doesn’t sugar coat things, and talks to you like a real person. I legitimately only stay on better help because Jay is the best therapist I’ve had. I’d recommend him to anyone.

Jay is great! He listens, always gives great advice and most importantly he keeps it real.

During our first meeting, Jay shared some crucial insight that validated feelings I was having and made something "click" in my mind. The shift in perspective I experienced with mounting job-related stress allowed me to better manage the other sources of anxiety in my life. After a coupe months of meetings, I feel like I'm doing a much better job practicing self-care and managing anxiety when it occurs. It goes without saying that I highly recommend Jay!

My counselor is very easy to talk to. I don’t feel like I’m being judged when I share things with him. Also, he provides resources that are assisting me in on my journey. After each session, I always leave with something that I’ve learned and that I can directly apply to my life. I’m really happy that he’s my counselor!

Jay is an amazing counselor/therapist. He is not afraid to give you real feedback and help you reflect on the harder things. I am amazed at how he remembers and actively listens and gives his 100%. I highly recommend him to anyone!!!

Jay has been excellent. I really like how clear and up-front he is. He understands that time is of the essence and there is no better time to dive into your issues and start addressing concerns than now. I am very happy I was matched with Jay!
