About me

Hello! My name is Mrs. Jay Butterfield, LCSW. I’m glad you’re reading my Profile. I graduated from Columbia University School of Social Work. My area of concentration is in Clinical Social Work. I have been providing counseling to clients for over 20 years. I have experience working with children, teens, adults, couples and families. My goal when working with you is to first create a confidential and comfortable space where you can be your authentic self. Together, we will study what is getting in the way of your happiness…your heart’s desire. My treatment approaches stem from the modern analytic and biopsychosocial models of treatment. These 2 approaches when combined create an environment that welcomes you to say what’s on your mind with no censors…or in other words just say EVERYTHING! You will be surprised how that one behavior can begin to change your world.

I know it’s not easy deciding to talk to a therapist, but you’ve taken the first step by reviewing my Profile. Now take the next step and lets set up a day and time to talk.

Jay is a really understanding counselor and she does her best to ensure that the person she is counseling is aware of all of the resources available to get through tough times. I recommend her for anyone.
