Jayne Praxis

About Me

Hello. My name is Jayne Praxis. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Kentucky. My pronouns are they/them. I've been practicing for 9 years. I've worked with clients across the life span and from many varied backgrounds. I see the therapeutic process as a spiritual in nature for the simple fact that it's about figuring out who you wish to be and setting goals to transform yourself into that person. I believe providing a safe space for clients and building a caring relationship build on acceptance is crucial to the therapeutic process. My role is one of alliance, not authority, to provide tools, support and resources during this particular phase of your life journey.

My approach is somewhat eclectic so as to best fit the needs of the individual. However my foundation is Mindfulness, as this supports a number of interventions, such as Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution Focused, and Somatic Practices. My undergraduate work was in Mythopoetics: Understanding the Self through Cultural Expression, which provides a context for exploring spiritual, religious, cultural, and personal narratives within the clinical setting. My areas of expertise are gender and sexuality, particularly LGBTQ issues, and trauma.

After just one session with Jayne I knew they were the right person for me. I’ve tried months of in person therapy, talking to friends, family, or even strangers, but none of them got me anywhere. My chest feels lighter after just one hour talking to them and I cannot wait until our next session! Thank you!

They are wonderful. I feel Jayne listens to me and makes a conscious effort to get to the root of the problem and heal. They have taught me it’s okay to take a time out and assess. I’m thankful.

Jayne is easily the best practitioner I have ever seen. Jayne has helped me tremendously in unpacking past traumas, dealing with current negative situations, and giving me tools I need to improve continuously. Previously, I had been to other therapists and did not make a fraction of the progress that I have with Jayne. Jayne is highly intelligent/skilled, personable, and trustworthy. I am grateful for the knowledge attained from our previous sessions, and I truly look forward to our subsequent ones so I can continue to grow and flourish in spite of any negative occurrences that have happened/will happen.
