About me

I recognize the decision to begin or return to therapy can be rather challenging. For many of us, processing pain and trauma is often avoided until a crisis arises, feelings become too unbearable, or life seems unmanageable. As we know, things can be unpredictable at times and while ‘change’ is an inherent part of human life, it can feel scary. Whether or not you’re in crisis right now, engaging in therapy can be helpful; there is always room for us to grow and evolve and become better versions of ourselves. Additionally, equipping ourselves with the skills and tools that will enable us to better cope with life's uncertainties, is also always a good idea.

For nearly ten years, I have provided clinical services to individuals and groups in a variety of settings including in residential treatment, inpatient, outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, as well as in my private practice. I am both a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor in the state of California.

I specialize in working with young adults struggling with mood &/or anxiety disorders, substance abuse/use disorders, trauma related symptoms, family conflict/divorce, school/work-related challenges, issues related to self-esteem, & life-transitions. I'm also passionate about working w/people who are affected by a loved one's addiction and/or mental health diagnosis; one person’s challenges has the potential to impact all members of a family. Similarly, we all deserve the opportunity to have a space where we can safely process difficult emotions, learn skills to cope, and ultimately, heal.

I know professionally and from first-hand experience that therapy requires courage, strength, and trust in yourself and in your therapist. As such, regardless of where you are in your process, I will meet you there. I would describe my approach as warm, non-judgmental, and strengths-based. I work collaboratively with my clients to develop therapy goals that feel attainable, while also aiming to keep them accountable.

I believe that being a therapist is an honor and a privilege. If you think I would be a good fit for you, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
