Jean Budge

About Me

I have a passion for helping people make positive, meaningful changes in their lives. I am kind, compassionate, and non-judgmental. I understand that we all have strengths and we have all made mistakes in our lives. We all have things that we are not proud of and are difficult to talk about, or face. We come from different backgrounds and have different experiences which shape who we are and how we navigate our worlds. Many systems impact our lives including our families, our work environments, schools, neighborhoods, culture, faith communities, and societal systems including our economic systems and governments. This diversity can create depth and creativity for our larger community and can be valued even as we seek to find common ground to solve our problems.

I will walk alongside you as you navigate your path and offer support and encouragement because I believe that you are the expert on your life and what it means to be you. I can help you see things differently and come up with new ideas to make changes that are important to you. I do not have all the answers, but I will work with you to find the right answers for the situations you are facing. In my experience, clients are able to work through life's challenges by utilizing strengths they already have as well as new tools they can learn.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, and an approved supervisor by the MN Board of Marriage and Family Therapy and the AAMFT. My B.S. degree in Child Development and Criminal Justice is from the University of Minnesota, and my M.A. in Adlerian Psychology is from Adler Graduate School in Richfield, Minnesota. Some of my work experience includes: providing parent education to families involved in the legal system, therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families in homes and clinics.
