Hello, my name is Jean, and I have been a social worker for over ten years. I have a passion for helping others that made me change my career after getting my bachelor's degree in film. I saw how I may be able to help others who had been through a trauma and it changed my life. I have been an individual therapist in my own private practice for about five years, prior to that working in an outpatient hospital setting. My treatment approach is client-centered, meaning the therapy and the session, in whatever form it may take, is about what the individual I'm working with wants to focus on. I see my role as one of support, guidance, and confidence-building. I strive to use skills related to cognitive-behavioral therapy, as well as trauma-focused approaches. That means we can look at the role of your thoughts in your feelings, but also how your life has impacted your thoughts and reactions, and start on the road to healing those. I look forward to meeting you and beginning our partnership.
