Hello! My name is Jeff Moffitt, and I am a licensed therapist with over 20 years of experience working with individuals and couples. Throughout the years, I have worked extensively with individuals in California, Texas, Oklahoma as well as those from many different countries and various cultural backgrounds. I currently work with individuals and couples who are struggling with depressed mood, anxiety, worry, stress, relationship and marital issues, grief and loss, and trauma. I also help those struggling with substance use and/or addictive disorders (these include sexual, eating and gambling disorders). These struggles create a life-altering imbalance affecting things such as sleep, diet, fatigue, concentration, motivation, etc. There are proven and practical solutions to these problems associated with your well-being.
My education, internships, personal, and professional experiences have always influenced my nature of service to others (in one form or the other). My desire to see others succeed and live a happier life is my passion. I'm confident I can help you live a more satisfying life.
My approach is supportive and engaging. Treating others with dignity and respect is a central core value. I don't believe in a "one size fits all" approach to therapy. My counseling style is adaptive to support and highlights your individual and unique needs. There certain theoretical approaches intended to initiate and facilitate healthy change in your life. Some of these include cognitive, behavioral therapies, and process therapies such as mindfulness, meditation, relaxation (PMR), experiential processes, self-control and other effective treatment options. Together, we will develop a clear plan intended to identify triggers and prevent exacerbation of symptoms. Our focus will be on areas of strength as opposed to areas of weakness. We will strive for a positive approach to problem-solving. In general, we will explore feelings and thoughts, how they are interrelated and how they influence behavior (good, bad, or indifferent).
It takes a lot of courage to seek help. If you will give it a chance, I'm confident I can help you!
Additional areas of focus:Addictions, LGBT, Family conflicts, Trauma and abuse, Intimacy-related issues, Eating disorders, Sleeping disorders, Parenting issues, Anger management, Career difficulties, Bipolar disorder, Coping with life changes, Coaching, Compassion fatigue, ADHD, Abandonment, Adoption and Foster Care, Aging and Geriatric Issues, Attachment issues, Blended Family Issues, Body image, Cancer, Caregiver issues and stress, Chronic pain illness and disability, Codependency, Commitment Issues, Communication problems, Control issues, Coping with Natural or Human-Caused Disaster, Dependent Personality, Dissociation, Divorce and separation, Domestic Violence, Drug and Alcohol Addiction, Eating and Food-Related Issues, Emptiness, Family of Origin Issues, Family Problems, Fatherhood Issues, Fertility Issues, First Responder Issues, Forgiveness, Guilt and shame, Hospice and End of Life Counseling, Immigration Issues, Impulsivity, Infidelity, Isolation / loneliness, Jealousy, Life purpose, Men's issues, Midlife crisis, Military and Veterans Issues, Money and financial issues, Mood disorders , Multicultural Concerns, Obsessions, Compulsions, and OCD, Panic disorder and panic attacks, Paranoia, Phobias, Postpartum Depression, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy and childbirth, Prejudice and Discrimination, Process addiction (porn, exercise, gambling), Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), Self-Harm, Self-love, Sexual Assault and Abuse, Social anxiety and phobia, Somatization, Traumatic Brain Injury, Women's issues, Workplace issues, Young Adult Issues

Jeff is by far the most intuitive and understanding person I ever had the pleasure talking to. He is able to combine theory with practice, as it pertains to the workings(or the lack off) the human mind. I would strongly recommend Jeff to anybody who is on the path of self discovery and betterment. I have never meet anyone like him. Thanks for all that you do!

I really enjoyed my time talking with Jeff, however something must have come up because he has cancelled our sessions three times now in the short almost four weeks I’ve been a member here at better help. I wish we could have worked together as I really enjoyed the two chats we had. I hope he is ok, but I cannot keep waiting to chat with him like this. I wish him the best.

Even if you only seek help for the short term, speaking with Jeff or any professional can do no harm and I feel as if I was able to cope and progress with a variety of issues that had lingered for years previously. He is a great listener and has never steered me wrong, 10000% recommend.

Joining Faithfully Counseling was a very good choice. Jeff is easy to talk to & has genuine concern for his patients. I was at a treacherous place and he is very willing to work with medical doctor and making sure that all my medical needs are also met. He is able to see the big picture which I was unable to see especially in the beginning of therapy I think I still have a long way to go but I can see I am getting better

Jeff was interested in me and my concerns. He connected without judgement. Jeff was direct when needed: to point out possible gaps in my thought process. Yet, he was always listening and guiding me to see multiple solution paths.
Jeff was what I needed to work through things.

Jeff has gone above and beyond to accommodate my needs for counseling. He has been willing to provide the time he sees necessary to address all of my concerns and has followed through with my requests for specific types of therapy(CBT). I know he has a genuine passion for his profession and seeks fulfillment in his work for the benefit of people's mental health.

He is local, understands the culture here in Texas and is extremely supportive. Especially me, being a male, whom are not really "allowed' to have emotions. It's nice that he listens and provides not only support but solutions to problems.

Jeff is a fantastic counselor. He is very level-headed, compassionate, and frank. That last part may seem a little odd in combination with the first two, but he truly embodies what it means to be honest vs brutal (honesty w/out compassion is merely brutality). I feel very comfortable sharing what’s going on in my life with Jeff, and I appreciate his feedback and high-level of accountability that he expects from his clients. He makes it very clear that his job is to be his clients’ virtual wingman, and he does it well.

Jeff is very polite and easy to talk to. He has listened to all of my life concerns and is tackling them in the order of importance. He has offered weekly worksheets for me to work on. The information in the sheets have helped. I really like the fact that I can post a message to Jeff during non-session hours and get some suggestions from him. I also love that I can do therapy at home. I would highly recommend Jeff.

Jeff is a great therapist. I've been working with for almost 2 months, and he's always there for me.
Literally, he is doing a great job listening to me, my inner thoughts and feelings. Moreover, he has been so flexible for me to achieve my goals. With Jeff, i get through things with no such emotional pain than i did before. I am starting experiencing awesome things in my life thanks to such nice counseling. It has been a pleasure to match with him.
Written on Aug 24, 2018 after therapy with Jeff for 1 month on issues concerning relationship, and self esteem
Jeff has been the most helpful and caring therapist. Honestly speaking, it’s my first time in therapy and I was scared. But he was patient. I still remember connecting and then deciding I won’t go ahead and he stayed so patient. I was so frightened to speak out my inner thoughts, fears, and worries. But he was empathetic and without any judgement. He never stopped my chattering and is always there to listen and share his thoughts.
He, unlike other people, has not stopped me, rather he is focusing on helping me with how to cope with emotions while not forcing anything. He is very easy to connect and to share with. The best thing is he tries to lighten your mood by being a friend which lightens the whole atmosphere. He has tried to bring out perspective and views which I previously was not even considering.
I am looking forward to overcome my issues through his help and guidance.
Thanks Jeff for being here.
Stay blessed.

Mr. Jeff has been counselling me for 10 days now. From the time we started having sessions, I have been feeling much better because he has been monitoring me and helping me out with different aspects of my problems. His advises are doable and practical. I have succeeded to quit my worst habit since the counselling commencement day. He has always been here for me and I haven't felt lonely during the hard times. His years of experience enables him to understand his clients the way they are and give them the most suitable advises possible.

So far the discussions I have had with Jeff have been helping lead me to understand what things I need to work on. Lots to do. I'm not sure that I'm a big fan of the chat method and the phone method seems to be somewhat difficult due to difficulty hearing. Overall, I enjoy talking to Jeff and look forward to our meetings.
