Hello! I am Dr. Jeff Clance, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 26 years of experience providing therapy services. I have served children, adolescents, and adults in a wide range of counseling settings including: youth residential detention centers, community outpatient mental health programs, public schools, and private practice in the Northwest Georgia area. I work with clients affected by depression, anxiety, attention struggles, substance abuse, relationship issues, and various other mental health and emotional challenges.
I began my education at the University of Georgia where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I completed a Master of Science degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University and went on to complete a PhD in Leadership at Mercer University in Atlanta, GA. In addition to state licensure, I am a National Board Certified Counselor and School Counselor. I have provided supervision services to counseling program students and have been fortunate to serve in counseling leadership positions at the local and state level.
My goal in the counseling relationship is to assist you in developing solutions and tools which can be applied to all aspects of your life. I often combine techniques and strategies from various therapeutic approaches based on each client’s presenting concerns, goals, and motivation. These include, but are not limited to, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, client-centered, and brief therapy. You, as the client, determine your own personal progress and growth based on what you feel is best for you. We all have the capacity to make choices and face challenges, yet occasionally we need another person to validate, hear, and believe in us. It is my hope that together we can discover the healing, support, and growth you are searching for through counseling.

He is patient and caring and I've been really enjoying our sessions. He is by far my favorite I've had the pleasure of working with! He really listens to my problems and seems to understand what my concerns are. I'd highly recommend him to anyone!
Dr. Clance is phenomenal. He's an excellent listener and has really helped me!
Honest with calling you out - in a helpful way. Asks questions to get you thinking out of the box.
Dr. Clance is a wonderful therapist who is more than willing to work at your own pace and making the client feel as comfortable as possible. 10/10
he has given me some great advice and talks me through what is bothering me and also helps me understand and comprehend things when I have a problem or a question
I highly recommend Dr. Clance. Dr. Clance has been absolutely kind with his responses, understanding when giving advice, and generous with his time. Expect worksheets and questions that will help you see the logical faults in your negativity. Dr. Clance often provides focused resources to help you know yourself so you can change yourself. Conversations with Dr. Clance felt natural, like talking to a more positive and logical version of myself. I appreciate the insights into my own thinking he has given me and the time he has taken to help me with even my most insignificant concerns. Thank you Dr. Clance!
During my time with Dr. Clance he never failed to be helpful or supportive. He always ensured a safe environment where I could manage my anxiety and helped me develop ways to deal with it outside of therapy. Whether we were just talking through my worries or reviewing CBT worksheets, our sessions were always open, honest, and free of judgement. At times he even helped me laugh at how silly some of my anxious thoughts were! I cannot thank him enough for all support. 12/10 would recommend to anyone!
Dr. Clance continues to approach our sessions with a professional and friendly touch. He makes sure to understand what I am dealing with on a week to week basis, and help me come up with strategies to avoid or deal with those issues head on.
