Hello! I am Dr. Jeff Clance, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 28 years of experience providing therapy services. I have served children, adolescents, and adults in a wide range of counseling settings including: youth residential detention centers, community outpatient mental health programs, public schools, and private practice in the Northwest Georgia area. I work with clients affected by depression, anxiety, attention struggles, substance abuse, relationship issues, and various other mental health and emotional challenges. I am currently licensed to practice in Georgia, Colorado, and North Carolina.
I began my education at the University of Georgia where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I completed a Master of Science degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University and went on to complete a PhD in Leadership at Mercer University in Atlanta, GA. In addition to state licensure, I am a National Board Certified Counselor and School Counselor. I have provided supervision services to counseling program students and have been fortunate to serve in counseling leadership positions at the local and state level.
My goal in the counseling relationship is to assist you in developing solutions and tools which can be applied to all aspects of your life. I often combine techniques and strategies from various therapeutic approaches based on each client’s presenting concerns, goals, and motivation. These include, but are not limited to, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, client-centered, and brief therapy. You, as the client, determine your own personal progress and growth based on what you feel is best for you.
We all have the capacity to make choices and face challenges, yet occasionally we need another person to validate, hear, and believe in us. It is my hope that together we can discover the healing, support, and growth you are searching for through counseling.

Dr. Chance is masterful. His expert yet friendly insight s are always impactful. Every single week I come away feeling seen, heard, validated yet also gently challenged to look from different perspectives.
