About me

Hello, my name is Jeffrey Hamm. I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Washington since 2010. I have been providing individual and couples counseling for over ten years. I worked with teenage boys at a residential treatment center prior to completing my requirements for licensure in the state of Washington. For the past ten years I have worked with members of the military and their families. My work has taken me on brief stints to the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. I lived and practiced overseas in Europe from 2015-2019 before returning back to Washington State. I work with individuals dealing with challenges related to quality of life, relationship/communication, stress/anger management, life adjustments and transitions, grief and loss, domestic violence, and low self-confidence/worth. I work with Couples dealing with challenges related to parenting, grief/loss, trust/betrayal, communication, and intimacy. My goal is to assist my client in becoming the person that they want to be. I believe that the people I work with have the internal strengths and abilities to accomplish their goals. I see my role as helping them discover these strengths and abilities and be able to apply them towards their desired area(s) of growth.

I would describe my approach in therapy as warm and affirming while empowering my clients in discovering their internal abilities to grow in the ways that they desire to. I meet my clients where they are and want to support their movement towards where they want to be. I see my work with my clients as a team approach - we work collaboratively to support and attain the changes that the client is seeking in their life.

I provide cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused therapeutic approaches in working with both individuals and couples.

I know that it takes courage to reach out for support through counseling and to take those first steps towards change. If you feel that you are ready to take those steps, I would like to walk along side you at the beginning of this journey. I look forward to us working together.
