About me

I was born and raised in Rockford, Ill. before moving to Columbia, Mo. to attend the University of Missouri. I graduated with a Bachelors of Journalism and moved to Rogers, Ark. where I worked as an editor and designer for Celebrate Arkansas Magazine. I fell in love with Northwest Arkansas and stayed in the area to attend graduate school at the University of Arkansas. I earned a Masters of Science in Counseling in 2015 and opened a small practice in 2016. I relocated to Denver, Colorado in 2020.

I decided to become a counselor because -- most simply put -- I believe in counseling. Throughout my own counseling work I have come to see the value in sitting across from another person and allowing them to see all of me—my fears, my doubts, my shame, my joy, my hurt. I find author and researcher Brene´Brown sums it up best:
“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
