Jenise Wilson

About Me

My name is Jenise Wilson, LPCC-S, and I am have been a counselor since 2014. I graduated with my Master's in Counseling from the University of Mary, and I have my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. I have worked with various populations, including children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. I use Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy modalities with clients to really help the client understanding the issues they are facing and what they need to help them in the moment. I also draw from attachment theory, feminist theory, solution-focused theory, person- centered theory, and trauma theories to truly help clients the best I can. I believe the client is the true expert in the room, and I am here to help along the journey. Please note that my schedule changes from week to week; thus, I do not have all my availability on my BetterHelp schedule. If you desire to work with me, but cannot find an open time that works for you, just shoot me a message and I will make sure that I find a time that is suitable for your schedule.

I have been working with Jenise Wilson for about a month now, and she has helped me cope with many things in a short period of time. The counseling sessions feel more personal and I get a lot of information when I need it. She shares the bad and the good every step of the way, and also highly acknowledges your victories, which is something I had been looking for in a counselor. Highly recommend her!

Jenise has been a wonderful guide in my journey towards self-healing. She listens attentively and objectively while providing me with ample feedback on how to approach the various challenges that I am faced with. She is a compassionate listener and offers constructive insight - which has allowed me to grow immensely in the short time I have worked with her. I have a long way to go of course, but I’m really thankful to have someone so skilled and knowledgeable as my counselor.
