About me

I am a Counseling Psychologist originally from Ohio and now residing in Myrtle Beach, SC. I got my bachelors from the University of Toledo, and I got my masters and doctorate from the University of Akron. Despite being educated in the big cities, I actually am just a "little ole' farm girl from Ohio." I have been practicing in psychological services for over 28 years and specialize in depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, sexual and other traumas, relationship issues, and career development.

My approach to therapy is based on developing a compassionate relationship with my clients. Sometimes life is really hard and we get stuck in the way we think, feel, and act; or we struggle to cope with what life has thrown at us. My approach is to help you feel heard and partner with you to develop new ways to see yourself and the world. Together we work to understand you and your life, and then identify ways to help you become a happier and healthier you.

I view therapy as a partnership between myself and the client. I expect that we will identify and work toward mutually agreed upon goals. Therapy can at times be challenging and uncomfortable as we explore painful events, circumstances, and characteristics. I do my best to support my clients through that discomfort and help my clients to achieve happiness and health.

Jennie was amazing! Very open to listening and giving great advice how to handle things even though it felt like too much. She made one day at a time seem so much more clear. She was a blessing with her help!

She’s amazing! She checks in with me pretty much daily if she doesn’t here from me. I feel 1000 times better talking to her whether it be via messenger or by phone appointment. She’s very encouraging and positive. Dr. Cassidy helps me see things in a different perspective and also the big picture. When I am panicking or feel my world is crashing, she’s helping to calm the storm. She also provides the tools for self help for me to work through them.
