About Me
I have been in the mental health field since 2007 and have been licensed as a Mental Health Counselor since 2014 in New York. I am now relocating to Florida. I have worked in a variety of settings including a crisis hotline, private practice, and mentor to homeless teenage girls. I have a background with at-risk male youth and young fathers in East Harlem. I have experience in substance use treatment settings helping clients to explore triggers for their behaviors as well as coping skills for maintaining sobriety. My main clients now are adults dealing with anxiety and depression as well as addictions.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a solid background as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC). I am also currently affiliated with EMDRIA - Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing International Association and am a Certified EMDR Therapist.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jennifer Colton. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Jennifer is truly wonderful at what she does. She really cares about her work and her clients and I'm so very grateful to have her help support and expertise in my corner. She goes above and beyond to be sure her clients are heard and taken care of and she uses her wealth of knowledge to help every step of the way.
Jennifer is very easy to speak to, and trustworthy.
Jennifer has been amazing, always there to listen and I feel comfortable sharing my inner thoughts and feelings. She has been helpful with my journey of healing. She is very knowledgeable and shows expertise on what she does. Very warm and kind-hearted.
Jennifer is a saint. She is so patient with me and full of knowledge that helps me figure out the sources to my issues. She is understands what I try to say and I automatically felt comfortable with her. After my experiences with past therapist and psychiatrists. I didn't think I was going to do therapy again. She has helped me open up and I am able to take the guidance she gives me, with me.
Amazing and kind hearted
Very helpful
Jennifer has been wonderful and non-judgmental about my issues. I appreciate her feedback and I feel comfortable having deep conversations with her.
So far, so good! One getting-to-know-you chat, one therapy session, and many messages back and forth, which have been so supportive and beneficial! I am loving this journey, thus far!
I have only had a couple of sessions with Jennifer, but already know that I trust her judgement with my therapy. Wherever this takes me I know I am in good hands.
She is a very good listener and advises on techniques to combat my addiction
