I have been working as a counselor since 2011 and continue to be passionate about what I do. My background is in humanistic-existential, acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion-based training, nature-based therapy, somatic-based practices, and contemplative expressive art (writing/photography). This is an eclectic, integrative approach: to healing and change, observation and action, connection to self and others. My experience comes from providing direct mental health/behavioral counseling for individual adults and groups (ages 18+) with a variety of concerns: to individuals with disabilities and caregiver support, grief/loss, stress reduction, trauma recovery, depression, anxiety, life transitions, chronic pain/illness, self-growth and self-compassion.
I approach counseling by way of collaboration between the therapist (myself) and you (the client) in a safe space. It is you that is giving me permission to be on this journey with you. Therapy is individualized to the person I am working with; not a one-size-fits-all approach. Observing what you are dealing with from a multifaceted perspective, not only in parts. Meeting you where you are at and working together towards insight and understanding. Finding strategies that fit your lifestyle so you can find ease from the suffering you may be faced with. My personal style of counseling is to help you learn the tools to make those decisions on your own and to provide a safe place to discuss all possible solutions.
Thank you for your time and taking the courage to seek out support. This is an empowering first step you have imparted for yourself. If you are ready to begin, I am here to support you on this journey ahead.
