I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Austin, TX, with nine years of experience providing psychotherapy services for state-funded mental health agencies, large and small group practices, and my own private practice. I earned my MA in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling at the University of South Florida in Tampa. After eleven years of living and working in Florida, I have relocated to Texas, where I was born and raised. It's great to be back home and living in Austin, surrounded by live music, tacos, and Topo Chico. I am excited to join the BetterHelp team of professionals so I can start providing therapy services to my fellow Texans.
I enjoy working with creative people - musicians, artists, writers - however I am able to connect with clients of various backgrounds and interests. The kinds of issues I routinely treat include ADHD, anxiety, panic, depression and other mood disorders, relationship struggles, school/career related concerns, family conflict, LGBTQ+ concerns, and self-esteem issues. My counseling style with clients is warm, non-judgemental, and encouraging. Clients view me as positive, creative, funny, and genuine. My therapeutic approach is eclectic in nature, drawing from aspects of Rogerian Client-Centered therapy, Culturally Sensitive/Multicultural therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and art therapy.
Creative expression through art - whether it’s music, storytelling, design, dance, poetry, photography, graphics - cuts through our differences, helps us overcome life’s challenges, and connects us all. These connections heal and inspire true and lasting change.

Jen is hands down the best counselor I have worked with. She listens to me, respects me and has a variety of tools to offer me for combatting my anxieties and depression. She makes me feel valid and normal. 10/10 would recommend.
Jennifer is a natural! With her help, I was able to identify what has really been bothering me throughout the years, then deal with it confidently. She has guided me to feel better about myself and has made me appreciate life in a way I never thought possible.
Jennifer goes above and beyond. Her level of professionalism is above any other standards. She truly cares and she shows it. Jennifer has helped me see where I need to be and that I can be that person. She has helped me accept my imperfections and embrace them. With saying that, she has helped me strengthen where I am weak and better myself. I have traveled such a great distance in such a short amount of time. I will be forever thankful foe the toolkit for life that she has helped me create.
I have only been working with Jennifer for a short time, but so far she has been amazing and very helpful.
