About me

Hi. My name is Jen. I know that finding the right therapist (especially online) can be an overwhelming process and leave you feeling unsure. Here is some information that can help you learn more about who I am and the kind of therapy I do. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Utah. I have a masters degree and am currently working on finishing my Ph.D. in marriage and family therapy as well. I am a wife, mother, dog lover, and baking enthusiast. One reason I became a therapist is that I honestly believe in the healing power of relationships and am always in awe of how much resiliency I see in others.

I believe that healing can only occur in a place of safety. This is especially important when you have gone through traumatic experiences, are dealing with relationship issues or are struggling with anxiety and depression. These things can often leave us feeling isolated and alone. However, you do not have to go through this alone. My role as a therapist is to be a guiding hand through your journey of healing. I have successfully worked with individuals and couples who have a history of depression, anxiety, and/or trauma. I also like to use humor, warmth, self-compassion and a curious non-judgmental stance. I believe in the importance of feeling congruent and honoring your lived experience.

Together, we can find the treatment that best fits for you.

She is a great counselor!

I had this expectation of being paired with several different counselors before I found one that fit. Let me tell you, I was paired with a perfect counselor the first time, Jennifer is very skilled at what she does, how she helps and especially who she is as a person helps a ton!

The short time I've been in session with her, I felt heard and appreciated, as one should especially during difficult times.

Based on her specialty and her training I am hopeful for my personal journey for my healing. PTSD is such a fragile thing, and so is her approach. I'd recommend her to others in a heart beat.

I am so lucky to have her as my very first counselor.

Jennifer has been great at getting me to actually reflect on a lot of the thoughts that have been troubling me and actually prompting me to think more about what I actually value. Her kind nature has made me open up a lot more that I probably would have in a face to face counseling session, as I have time to track my thoughts and discuss them as they occur to me. Although the conversations are still in the beginning phases, I've been incredibly happy with the support and advice given.
