About Me

Welcome! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist through the Board of Behavioral Sciences for the state of California #99355 and the Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage and Family Therapist Board in Ohio #F.1800080. Providing therapy and helping others is my passion and purpose! I work best with those who are ready for and motivated for a pivotal change. I use a down to earth and open minded approach as I partner with and empower you towards your healing, growth, and the self-discovery of intentional living. This approach allows for the greatest possibility of you getting back to or discovering your best self!

My clinical background includes working in various clinical settings with children, teens, and adults who have a variety of needs. I wholeheartedly believe in the power of partnering with my clients along their unique life journey towards healing and the self-discovery of intentional living towards a rich, full, and meaningful life.

I earned a Master of Arts degree (M.A.) in Counseling: Human Services with Christian Specialization from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia in 2012. With a previous undergrad in multi-disciplinary studies (psychology and education with teacher preparation), I went on to work in both private and community-based schools as a teacher before earning my second graduate degree of Master of Science degree (M.S.) in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University (CBU) in Riverside, California in 2014.

Current day, I partner with a non-profit agency conducting mental health services, offer Telemental health sessions, and provide therapeutic services through both my private practice at and contractor work through local agencies treating anxiety, depression, life transitions, women’s issues, parenting challenges, difficulties within the military family lifestyle, foster/ adoption issues, challenges within the LGBTQ+ community, relationship challenges, identity, self-esteem, quality of life and values clarification, and more.

To accomplish this therapeutic work, I utilize extensive knowledge and training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), bibliotherapy, burgeoning skills in Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and seek to tailor treatment goals towards individual client needs.

***Of importance, at this time, I am only offering asynchronous messaging and scheduled live texting sessions. Please note, unless otherwise specified, I schedule ALL live sessions directly with each client (versus using the scheduling system). Jennifer has made such a positive impact on my mental health and I wish I had her help sooner. I feel heard, fully supported and always feel confident in the tools she gives me to combat my anxiety. I’ve even shared these tools with my loved ones because they really do work. Jennifer also has a great way of guiding me to self realization and helping me find answers on my own through reflection. Jennifer is so great! She responds in a timely manner and keeps me updated when she will be leaving the office. She checks in on me often. Her knowledge makes me feel that my concerns are heard and she provides me with a lot of activities to try :-) I would highly recommend her!
