About me

I'm glad you're here! My name is Dr. Jennifer King, but please feel free to call me Jen. I am a doctoral level clinical social worker in the state of Ohio with nearly 10 years of clinical experience. I hold a Master's in Social Work degree from The Ohio State University, and a Doctor of Clinical Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. My experience in the field of clinical social work has allowed me to work with people of all ages, from a diverse background with regard to race, socioeconomic status, gender, sexual identity, and, of course, presenting problems and mental health diagnoses. My style is warm and genuine; I use humor as much as you'll allow me to.

My approach varies depending on your needs. I believe in building a collaborative relationship where we work together to figure out how to help you feel better as quickly as possible. I am trained extensively in providing trauma-informed care, as well as cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic techniques. I have special interest in the assessment and treatment of trauma (and engage in research regarding traumatized children), depression/anxiety, and the use of mindfulness approaches to aid in stress reduction.

I am married with two (very!) young sons. I am a mother, wife, therapist, researcher, friend, daughter--- the list goes on and on. I understand what it can be like to feel overwhelmed by life's demands. I am committed to my own self-care and hope to help you become more committed to yours.
