About me

Hey, I'm Jennifer Lawrence... not the actress, just the social worker!

I'm a licensed social worker and I've been working as a therapist for just over 10 years. My background includes a range of topics including trauma and grief work, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and general life "stuff" that comes up where we could all use a little extra support at times. I have experience with individual, couples, family, and group counseling with kids, teens, and adults. I'm culturally aware and have experience working with LGBTQ individuals and families.

In terms of treatment, I pull from a variety of modalities and theories, mostly cognitive behavioral (figuring out how we think of things and then how to think about it in a more helpful way), mindfulness practice (relaxation), and "general" talk therapy to help us figure out what's going on, why you're feeling like you need support, and how we can get you back on track. My approach is collaborative and flexible to move at whatever pace you're comfortable with, while also challenging you to grow and evolve during the process. I want to be more than a "friendly listener" because I believe that your resources, most importantly your time, are important and I want to respect that to best do my job for you. I tend to be solution focused and might recommend reading a book or checking out an app in between sessions to help with that forward momentum. I can bring humor into the therapeutic relationship if that's something that fits with your personality.

Jennifer is really easy to talk to. She always seems to have lots of time for me and really understands me. I feel at ease and the conversation flows allowing me to discuss thing as they come in to my head and at my own pace. Would highly recommend her.

Jennifer is my second counselor I have worked with on here and she's the best- I feel comfortable saying things that sound ridiculous, because sometimes you need to just say it out-loud! Her advice is excellent and she's so easy to talk to, basically like talking to a friend!

Jen has been very helpful in listening to all the troubles and issues I'm facing in my life. And she's done a great job of offering me action items that I can do at my own pace. Since I'm fairly new to all this, I'm still interested in seeing how therapy will help me become a better person, but it's nice to know that someone out there is listening.
