About me

I am a clinical counselor licensed in the states of North Carolina and Maryland with over 20 years of experience in the field of mental/behavioral health. My master's degree studies were in the realm of Clinical Psychology. I have worked with individuals possessing a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, anger management, parenting challenges, career and other life transitions, OCD and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse, as well as individuals suffering from psychosis. I have worked with low to higher functioning individuals, and in a variety of work settings. I consider myself culturally sensitive, versatile, and experienced in working with clients of varying demographics.

My counseling style is empathetic, nonjudgemental, and interactive. I believe in treating people with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach consists of cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and psychodynamic orientations. I often incorporate aspects of DBT (to include concepts such as Mindfulness) and will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage and dedication to self to take the steps toward a more fulfilling life. I am here to support, empower, and guide you toward that more positive and joyful life experience.

I look forward to working with you!

Jennifer Mally is a great listener. She also reads my journal entries and understands the stress of professional teachers who are teaching teenagers in high schools.

Jennifer is a top notch therapist. I was able to overcome some longtime problems and develop new coping strategies after just a few short months. Jennifer has an exceptional ability to personalize online therapy in a way I hadn't thought possible before signing up for Better Help. She is talented at balancing her roles as a passive listener as well as an active conversationalist. I've consistently felt that she gives me the benefit of doubt and doesn't jump to any conclusions or make passing judgments. She continues to surprise me with her innovative ideas for problem-solving and coping strategies. 10/10!
