About me

Are you feeling overwhelmed and are just going through the motions to get through the day? Have you come to a place in life where strategies that may have worked in the past are less helpful now? Are you ready to look beyond what you think the world wants of you and are seeking different answers?

If you are exploring Better Help, the first big step to a more meaningful life is already behind you. Deciding to ask for support requires a great deal of strength, so nice work! Finding the right therapist to build a connection with is very important to making the progress you would like to achieve. Here is a little information about me and how I could support you:

Hi! My name is Jennifer Mely (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) and I have been providing a warm therapeutic environment to connect with and empower clients for over the past 10 years. My experience has given me opportunities to work with people from all different backgrounds who are struggling with a wide variety of challenges. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I approach counseling through a person-centered approach; I tailor therapy based on your needs. I believe in meeting you where you are at while using reflective questioning to guide our sessions and desired change. I believe in treating people with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. My role is to help you discover what is already there, as opposed to fixing something that is broken. I believe that each of us are our own experts in our lives and we have the strength we need inside of us to find solutions to the problems and difficulties we face in life. I would like to work with you to empower you to look within to find the resources and supports you need. You don’t have to do this alone!

Therapy can be challenging sometimes. I respect you immensely for realizing it’s time to not face the tough stuff alone. I look forward to meeting you and joining alongside you as you navigate through some of life’s more challenging adventures!
I am currently accepting new clients!

Jen is a compassionate therapist. She helps me face my difficulties, and reminds me that I’ve done hard things and can continue to despite it feeling icky.

It’s been great to confirm what I already know about the existing toxic relationships in my life and learn new things along the way too. I am currently working on applying the tools I’ve learned from Jennifer so far and have faith it will make a positive impact.

Jennifer has been great. I truly feel she is in my corner. She has been able to help me quickly identify some past experiences that have led me to think/behave the way I do which has been extremely beneficial in starting to work on those areas.
