About Me

"We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned so as to open to the life that is waiting for us." ~ Joseph Campbell

Life has many twists and turns, some expected some unexpected. It can be difficult to navigate these changes or transitions, especially if you feel alone in them. For the past two decades I have been working with individuals and their mental health in a variety of ways, ranging from massage therapy to yoga therapy to traditional counseling. These experiences have taught me how powerful the body is in both holding onto our joys and traumas and in its capacity to allow healing to happen. I have spent my professional career supporting individuals in their search for understanding the language of their bodies. I have become versed in modalities such as mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy, yoga therapy, somatic therapy, and eco therapy in order to help individuals learn about and listen to the unique ways their bodies speak to them.

My counseling style is intended to be warm, accepting, inviting, and it is meant to inspire curiosity in your own wisdom. Above all, I believe my clients have their own answers and best guidance and it is my job to help them learn to access it.

I have experience working with a wide population of people. My style tends to fit best for people searching to better understand themselves, to integrate trauma, to come to terms with grief and loss, and to heal from the loneliness of depression. I have experience with, and very much enjoy, working with people who are adjusting to a mood disorder diagnosis or who have identified that past trauma is getting in the way of living a fulfilling life. And, finally, over the course of my profession I have had the privilege of working with individuals from native populations.

I look forward to working with you!

Jennifer is wonderful at listening to me and offering amazing insight. She can repeat back what I’ve said in a way that makes me see it in a whole new light. She’s also great at pushing me just the right amount. She checks in often to make sure that we are spending our time on what is most important to me. She also sends weekly lessons with thoughtful quotes and exercises.

Jen has been the greatest Godsend! During a time of burnout and overwhelm, she helped to reflect back to me what I knew (deep down inside) I really needed to do in order to take better care of myself. She has helped me to listen more to both my body and my needs. I couldn’t ask for a better support!

Jen is warm, but more importantly she is present and intentional. I always come away from our sessions with something important to reflect on.

Jen is very down to earth and has different approaches that fit everyone’s personal counseling styles. I wanted practical tools to help with my issues and she has given me just that. I have never followed through with therapy but with her I get excited and not quite as anxious as I used to and I ALWAYS feel better afterwards.

I have been working with Jen for a few weeks now. She has done a great job of listening, as well as asking questions to help examine things further. Jen has been compassionate, caring and supportive throughout our time working together. It is great to have someone who has my best interests at heart and wants to aid in healing.

I highly recommend Jennifer Munyer! She very much understood what I was experiencing. She offered very accurate observations that helped me to come to an important decision in my life at a time of crisis. I would like to add that I myself am a mental health professional and have high standards.

Jennifer has the ability to sift through a mountain of post-breakdown thoughts and help guide a patient to a healthier thought process when engaging past trauma. She is sensitive to the needs of neuroatypical people and encourages adaptation of techniques to make them suitable for the individual instead of making it a one-size-fits-all approach.

Betterhelp.com is lucky to have her.
