I am a clinical social worker and have been providing psychotherapy for four years. I have experience working with individuals and families. I have worked with a wide range of concerns but have the most experience working with individuals who are experiencing anxiety and/or depression, are struggling at home or at work, are going through grief, or struggling with life transitions. I have experience working with individuals with ADHD, ASD, ODD, Bi-Polar Disorder and PTSD.
My counseling style is educational while still empathetic. I am open-minded and can connect with people from all walks of life. I believe in the self-determination and dignity of every individual so I will always do my best to be respectful and professional. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and person-centered counseling. I like to help individuals set goals for themselves that will help life go better. I will draw from my experience and education to help meet your needs.
Life is messy and hard a lot of the time. I am happy to travel this part of your journey alongside you. I look forward to working with you.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jennifer Pernsteiner. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Jennifer’s support has gotten me through one of the toughest years of my life. I’m in the best place I’ve ever been in and so much of that is because of her guidance and sincere ability to truly listen and talk me through concerns and life events. I always feel permission to be myself and feel like I have a safe space in her company. Nothing but gratitude for her.
Jennifer is a phenomenal counsellor, she truly is a beaming example of empathy. Often times I’ve felt alone due to the fact I seldom feel entirely understood, but I feel even though I frequently have difficulty articulating my thought process, she helps me understand myself better which makes it easy to collect my thoughts. It feels as if everything I’m going through she’s gone through before, or her expertise is just that spot on. I feel supported and excited for our sessions because I always learn useful and applicable material to my situation. I couldn’t ask for a better teammate.
She’s very thoughtful and responsive and comes up with strategies to help
Jennifer has been a kind and steady guide through a tumultuous year. I started therapy to help deal with the grief from my mother's death. She has helped me navigate strained familial relationships in the aftermath of that. as well as keeping me on track with my probate responsibilities. As we all try to figure out our lives in this pandemic, Jennifer has been thoughtful in her suggestions for coping strategies. I value and look forward to our sessions each week. Jennifer has also been timely in her responses to just regular day to day things that I post outside of our weekly sessions.
Jennifer reached out to me when I thought no one else could or would help me. She has helped me a lot already, and always listens to what I'm struggling with. Her advice is thoughtful and helpful, and it means a lot to me that she is available in multiple forms of communication. She has gone above and beyond with helping me and is always so patient with me. She is amazing to work with, and I highly recommend her to anyone who needs help.
Jennifer is very professional and has an excellent background and training. She is also personable and easy to connect with. I've found our sessions extremely beneficial.
I really appreciate the few appointments we've had. Just by a few sections works already seen a change in how I act and feel. I'd like to proceed with our talks. I've wrote a email asking for my nexts steps to make to make that happen.
She treats me with honor, dignity, and respect, as a human being, I could not ask for more.
Jennifer is hands down the best counselor I've ever had. She really takes her time with you and never makes me feel in a rush when the session is coming to an end. She has helped me live my life happily again when I didn't know I could! I am so grateful for finding her and BetterHelp.
I am so glad I began counseling with Jennifer. She is patient and understands what I'm trying to say even when I don't have the words to say it. She has recommended books and worksheets for me to do on my own outside of our meetings. I feel like I'm being heard and supported when I talk to her. I wish I had started this process a long time ago. I've already referred numerous friends and family to BetterHelp. It's been life changing for me.
When I first joined this site, I wasn't sure what to expect or if I would regret it immediately. Jennifer was assigned to me and right away, I knew it would be a great experience. She really listened and asked great questions and knew that I would need to deal with past traumas in order to move forward with current issues. She has given me many worksheets that have helped me a lot and has already been very insightful and a tremendous help. I will likely be purchasing the year package.
Jennifer works with your schedule and is reliable.
Jennifer is the best counselor I could have. I feel hopeful by talking to her and knowing I have her to talk to. She has been opening my mind and helping me to find answers, and also always comes up with a creative solution. She is truly kind, and caring. I feel very lucky to be matched with Jennifer.
Jennifer is very patient and easy to talk to. I was scared to start counseling all over again, but Jennifer has helped me immensely.
