About me

I am a clinical psychologist who completed doctoral training at Stanford University School of Medicine and PGSP before pursuing internship and residency at OU Health Sciences Center. Additionally, I obtained training in neuroscience from Stanford University and the University of Pennsylvania, and completed graduate coursework in behavioral genetics at Harvard University. In my clinical practice I offer private psychotherapy that incorporates evidence-based techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, compassion-focused therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and interpersonal neurobiology. I strongly believe in the brain/mind/body (and spirit!) connection, and view therapy through a holistic lens.

In the words of Glinda the Good Witch, "You've always had the power... you just had to learn it for yourself!" It is my belief that everyone has the power to heal. My goal as a clinical psychologist is to help clients harness their own strength to thrive!

For some, this strength is rooted in faith or family. In others, strength will result from mastering new skills, taking a fresh perspective, or processing emotional trauma. I am here to help clients break out of old patterns, overcome emotional pain, and begin living the life they want.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Jennifer Sweeton. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I am glad I get to speak to Dr. Sweeton because she actually acknowledges me and my needs and she doesn’t tell me how I feel or should feel. She is there for me when I need her and she also provides me the necessary tools to be independent and strong on my own.

Dr. Sweeton is extremely professional and knowledgeable, I feel comfortable talking to her about anything knowing it will be free from judgement. She always responds in a timely manner and is excellent to work with via messaging or live calls.

She is great at giving me perspective on things that I wouldn't have reached without her insight and knowledge, even if it's just reframing things I've brought up.

10/10 would definitely recommend to anyone struggling with sexual identity issues, and pretty much anything else.
