About me

I believe in empowerment and expanding our strengths, which we may not always know we have. The therapeutic process can be difficult and I strive to provide a safe space for comfort, insight, and positive changes to occur. Each session is structured around your needs--your personal experiences and how you choose to express them are what make these sessions unique from others. You should not feel as if you have to struggle alone or come up with the solutions by yourself. I will help guide you through this journey to achieve the emotional well-being you deserve.

My clinical experience has included working with school-aged children in foster care, high school students in a school setting, military prisoners, chronically homeless individuals, adults with various mental health diagnoses, and those who struggle with drug and alcohol abuse. I have worked with individuals struggling with self-esteem, emotion regulation, anger management, relationship issues, grief and loss, and suicidal ideation.

I utilize different treatment models as I believe there are so many useful skills in each model that can be beneficial when exploring and dealing with each situation. Such models include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Behavior Modification, Trauma Focused Talk Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

I am licensed by the Washington State Department of Health as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I graduated from Seattle University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and earned my Master of Social Work degree from San Diego State University in 2011. I am trained in crisis intervention, suicide assessment and prevention, and trauma-informed care. I continually seek opportunities to learn and have attended multiple trainings focused on various topics. Such topics include domestic violence, sexual exploitation, adolescent challenges, anxiety and mood disorders, as well as behavioral intervention when working with children on the autism spectrum.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jennifer Wilde. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I have had a few different counselors and in even just 1 session this is the best so far. Jennifer is a great listener and I feel very supported. I am really excited for what is to come.
