About Me

I am a licensed mental health counselor with over 20 years of experience experience working with diverse individuals in the community, private practice, and residential substance abuse treatment. Never in a million years did I ever think providing counseling to individuals, couples, families, and groups, would be the career to captivate my heart….but it is! My specialties are working with clients who may be suffering from traumatic incidents, substance abuse, various forms of anxiety (PTSD, stress disorders), depression, self-esteem, and gender identity.

In an effort to give the best practice to my clients, I have training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy and various types of therapies to assist clients

Making the decision to receive any form of mental health counseling can be taxing, however, the results are often positive and rewarding. Learning to face your fears in a healthy and appropriate manner is a sign of growth and maturity. It is not an easy task. You will cry, laugh, and maybe feel a little uncomfortable at times. This is just the therapeutic process working to make you emotionally stronger.

Jennifer really helped me with my anxiety problems. She gave me the tools necessary to help me with my problems. I felt like she really cared about me and would listen to everything I had to say, and she gave wonderful feedback. I really liked how she made a thorough treatment plan with me from our very first session. She's also incredibly funny! 10/10

When I talk to Jennifer I feel trusting and open. She understands me and my struggles, is kind and considerate of me and gives me tools to cope with whatever I’m dealing with. Currently, we are working on relationships and trust, self esteem and anxiety.

She's amazing. Have only met with her a few times but makes me feel better every time.

She is a compassionate listener and communicates in a timely manner. I have been to therapy before and I find her to be one of the better ones I have had. I feel hope for the first time in a long time.
