I am honored to be a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Washington state and have a private practice, Beacon of Light Family Counseling in Yakima WA. I have over 10 years of experience working with children as young as 7 years old. I enjoy working with adolescents, couples, individuals and families. In 1999 I received my Bachelor of Arts at the University of Washington in Psychology and in 2002 I received my Master of Arts degree from Antioch University, Seattle in Couple and Family Therapy.
My practice has evolved over time towards more evidence-bases approaches such as, Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused Therapy. These orientations best serve trauma, depression, anxiety and behavioral issues, co-parenting, blending families, marital and familial conflicts, life transitions and grief/loss.
I use a client centered approach in therapy in which I strive to create a comfortable, non-judgmental and empathic environment for my client. You are beginning what I hope will be a meaningful counseling experience. I have a passion and desire to being hope to those who are hurting. Again, may I welcome you and be of service to you on your journey towards growth and healing.
