About Me

If you are looking to achieve more balance in your life, you are in the right place! You will experience healing, growth and change on your therapeutic journey with me. I believe it takes a great deal of courage to seek help, and I am here for you with genuine care and compassion. I will work with you from a holistic standpoint as I firmly believe that the mind and body are connected, and that there are tools within you that we can access together to guide you to that place of balance. You can change your life with the help of a trusted therapist.

My name is Jennifer Yates and I have a Bachelor's in Psychology, a Masters in Counseling and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. I have 20 years of experience in counseling . I have been trained extensively in depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem and trauma. I have an expertise in these areas and in my private practice work with women dealing with the struggles of being a mother, having a career, relationship and/or juggling the various difficulties that come with these roles. I treat a lot of pregnant women or those dealing with post-partum depression or anxiety, as well as women with fertility issues. I've also worked extensively with young adults as they make their way into college or a career and the difficulties that can come with that.

As we begin counseling, I like to find out more about you, your needs, strengths and areas where you feel you need the most support. We will work together to come up with goals for you, as therapy is a collaborative experience. I have a compassionate and understanding ear, as well as the knowledge and resources to get you where you want to be.

I believe in treating the whole person. If you are having difficulty with your personal life it may spill over to your professional life. I'll help you connect the dots so that EVERY area of your life feels more fulfilling. You are not alone, and there is help for you here.

Responds quickly, has great knowledge on anxiety, and is really understanding. I have only been on here for a few weeks, but already see a difference.

I haven't been having this form of counseling for long but Jennifer has already been a great help! After I had said my issues, she was quickly able to identify all the things I find difficult and challenging! I have been with other counsellors for 6 months and they haven't managed to identify my issues but Jennifer got them within 30 minutes! I am very impressed and I'm hopeful for what is to come!

Always great with checking in and is very professional, she was very helpful since making the first step is so hard, but she made it easy to talk to her.

I just completed my last session with Jennifer Yates and I must say she was incredible in this kind of setting. She is readily available and very knowledgeable in her profession. She is detailed in her advice and spent time getting to know me and showing concern and care for my issues of anxiety. I would 100% recommend her services. It was such a wonderful feeling to get that email alerting me that I had received a reply from Jennifer. I looked forward to her input to my situation and I thank her for what she has added to my life.
