About me

I am licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience working with hospice patients and families. I specialize in helping people navigate through loss and grief. My experience has been focused on the loss of loved ones, however the strategies and conversations for coping with loss can be applied towards loss of relationships, jobs, or whatever else creates that deep sense of loss and grief in one’s life.

The pandemic has disrupted our social connections, our routines, and our sense of security. Along with all the disruptions, many are experiencing complex grief and loss of life as it was just a year ago. Grief may appear as anxiety, anger, hopelessness, a shattered world view and much more and unpacking the symptoms of grief and loss is a first step in reaching toward recovery, that is remembrance of the loss instead of the pain.

It is my goal to provide a safe space for my clients delve into the depth of their feelings, to emote, and to question. I meet my clients where they are emotionally with the utmost empathy to walk with them on their journey through grief. Helping them acknowledge grief and the associated stress and trauma can be difficult, however taking the time and energy to engage gives them the opportunity to move from post-traumatic stress to post-traumatic growth. If this resonates with you, then I invite you to partner with me.

My counseling style is warm, patient, and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I utilize cognitive and client-centered therapy, systems theory, and solution-focused therapy when applicable. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

I saw Jenney about a ago and she really helped me through a lot of things I was going through at the time. Now I separated from my husband and I’ve come back to talking to her. She really understands where I’m coming from and is an amazing counselor. I am so thankful that I have her in my life to help me through this transition time.

I worked with Jenny for around 6 months on my PTSD and other complicated personal issues. She's been incredibly helpful and she listens to what I need every step of the way in my recovery. In our first session, I asked her if she thought she could help me. I'm finding it difficult to explain just how helpful she's been.

I've come away from our sessions with plenty of wonderful and helpful books to read, I have coping strategies for my anxiety, and I'm more easily able to identify my triggers, and what I need to move forward. I've seen an incredible amount of personal improvement, more than I ever thought possible. Jenny is compassionate, non-judgmental, and an active listener. If you're looking for someone who will go the extra mile, you've found the right person.

I worked with Jenny for a month or two to process my grief, identify my triggers, and develop better strategies to cope with my stress/trauma responses. After my sessions with Jenny, I know that I’m becoming a better version of myself and I feel hopeful for the future.

Jenny takes the time to get to know her patients and build a trusting relationship. She let’s you be in control of the conversation and allows you dive deeper into the issues that brought you to therapy, in your own time. Her active listening shows that truly cares about what you have to share and she’s not judgmental. As a great bonus, if you like to read self-improvement or psychology books, she also has great book recommendations. I cannot recommend her enough.
