About Me

WHY DO I DO WHAT I DO?...

I understand how hard it is to face crisis and conflict. I felt, from my own experience, a unique support and empowerment, which helped me realize my own passion for learning about individual experiences and helping others through everyday struggles.

HOW DID I GET HERE?...

I started my journey late.  I didn’t realize where my dream was taking me until after I had children. I was a stay at home mom of 2, when I completed my bachelor's degree in psychology and a master’s degree in counseling, marriage, family and child therapy. I later found specializations in anxiety, depression, and relational issues through community agencies and volunteer work.

WHO AM I OUTSIDE THE OFFICE?...

Outside of the office, I spend a lot of time exploring the area with my family. We love the beaches, hiking, camping, and taking day trips. I love reading psychological thrillers, and I have several hobbies such as crocheting, art, scrapbooking, and baking. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, families, and groups. My passion is helping others find the healing solutions they need to be successful in life. I understand how hard it is to face crisis and conflict. I felt from my own experience a unique support and empowerment in therapy which helped me realize my own passion for serving others. Together we can achieve your goals for health and healing. My goal as a therapist is to help you achieve peace from mental distress by providing a safe and supportive environment to explore your individual needs.

WHAT CREDENTIALS DO I HOLD?...

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and Virginia. I completed my Master's in Counseling in 2011 through University of Phoenix and have a Bachelor's in Psychology from National University. I am a level 1 Gottman therapist, am actively practicing EMDR, and have certifications in play therapy, trauma informed cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. I also work closely with Military families to assist them throughout the many transitions of military life.

I have always been hesitant about seeking counseling because I'm afraid to share my true feelings with anyone, even a licensed professional. That said, I am deeply thankful for my conversations with Jesseca, as she has provided me with thoughtful insight regarding my concerns. I feel that she provides a safe space for me to be honest and vulnerable, without feeling judged, as well as provides me with direction to explore my thoughts and feelings more thoroughly. The light at the end of the tunnel is starting to become visible. And for that, I am grateful.

Jesseca has been a great anchor for me during this hectic time. I’m always able to return to my true self and discuss topics I feel are weighing heavily on me and I can relief those burdens or learn how to think about them differently after communications how I’m feeling to Jesseca.

Jesseca has been very positive with me listening to what I have to say, trying to give positivity and letting me drive the conversation so I can get out everything running around in my mind.

Jesseca has been very supportive in my growth and self reflection journey. I came to her with a list of topics that I really wanted to cover with her, and she's been very responsive, caring, and thoughtful with her responses and advice. Jesseca has been a huge supporter for me this past month, I'm so thankful for her!
