About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor licensed in Michigan. I have experience in working with Clients with a wide range of concerns such as depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, parenting problems, career challenges, addition concerns, substance use concerns, self-harm, and trauma related concerns.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe that genuineness and competence need to be present in the counselor in order to help facilitate change. I believe in meeting a person where they are at in their life when they come to see me. I believe that every person should be treated with respect and compassion.

I utilize a multi-theoretical approach to counseling. I primarily focus on using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as, Psychodynamic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Rational-Emotive Therapy. I also use a humanistic approach to counseling. My approach is designed to work with you as the individual. I will work alongside you as the client to collaborate in creating goals and treatment plans that are designed to meet your specific needs.

It takes courage to step forward and seek out counseling. The best things in life are often on the other side of fear. If you are ready to take a step toward a more rewarding and fulfilling life, I will be here to support you and empower you every step of the way.

I look forward to working with you as you take the next steps in your journey!

Jess is a wonderful human that has helped me through some very formative years as I go through college. She has helped me address personal issues stemming back to traumatic experiences that have resulted in cognitive distortions. She is such a joy to work with, making me smile a little even when things are hard!
