Jessica Alvendia, LPC
About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor credited with a Masters of Science degree in Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans. I also hold a certification as a National Certified Counselor. I am currently continuing my education as a PhD student in the Counselor Educator and Supervision program at the University of New Orleans. I provide mental health wellness to children 3+ years to individuals 65+ years and above, including families and other groups. My approach combines theories of cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, and solution-focused, incorporating holistic theories and interventions such as meditation and yoga. I also utilize creative interventions such as art and play therapy to work with children and adolescents on their individual levels. My counseling style is warm and interactive, and I do not believe in labels. In addition, I hold a comprehensive understanding of multicultural and socioeconomic differences and a respected understanding of diversity. My approach to therapy is to help each of my clients grow through their own individuality by assessing each client based on his or her needs and expected level of care.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!
