I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than 15 years experience working with children, adults, couples, and families in various settings. I am a military veteran and have worked with individuals from various backgrounds and varying acculturation levels as well as provided supervision of interns. I graduated in 2011 with a Masters in Psychology with Marriage and Family Therapy and completed a certification training to supervise the Functional Family Therapy team at my previous place of business.
Some people struggle with life transitions such as developmental changes in a family, divorce, or job challenges. Others have issues with depression, anxiety, trauma, mental illness, substance abuse, sex and intimacy or relationship issues. I believe that counseling offers healing, growth, and clarification for clients of all kinds as they courageously decide to work with me in a safe and confidential environment. I strive to create a warm, safe, trusting and positive therapeutic relationship and environment free from judgment. I believe that each individual has the ability for growth and change and I would like to assist in that process while encouraging congruence between one's beliefs, values and behaviors. I draw from a variety of therapeutic orientations and methods, my style tends to be strongly interpersonal and integrative and I strive to tailor therapy to fit each individual according to their unique situation and goals.
Outside of providing therapy to clients, I enjoy spending time with my family. I am a new mother to a beautiful little girl and 2 feisty English Bulldogs! My husband is active duty military so we tend to move around a lot, We enjoy traveling and camping in our travel trailer and spending time near the water.

The one thing I really appreciated about Jessica is that she really makes you think about why you feel the way you do. She asks questions that need to be asked to get to the root of the problem.
I like that she's consistent. We'd explore different avenues and ideas, but never lost focus of the main issue at hand.
I've definitely learned a lot about myself, and the reasons of why my actions. I've learned to better understand and control myself, which definitely has helped a lot.
