About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist associate. I have a Masters of Science Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from East Carolina University. I have had over 4 years of direct therapy experience in working with strong, inspiring people who work diligently to achieve their goals in life and find the peace they deserve. I am excited to work with individuals, couples, and families, and I am especially passionate about couples counseling, phase of life struggles in women, depression and anxiety, and treating trauma in children and adults. I have family members in the military and grew up close to a large army base so I am also familiar with the stressors of military life/trauma and how that affects the family system. I am level 1 trauma certified in SITCAP which is an evidenced-based treatment modality specifically for treating post-traumatic stress. I use this model to treat children and adults that have experienced any form of trauma and have seen tremendous growth in my clients since using this model!

With all of my clients, I utilize a person-centered approach to treatment. Each one of my clients are different and have their own unique story, and each person deserves their own specialized treatment plan to ensure they are receiving best quality care possible. I do not try to push the client too quickly or try to impose my own goals on them. I encourage the clients to verbalize their own goals for therapy and I utilize a solution-focused model to help clients identify solutions to their symptoms now, and also learn how to continue to identify solutions in the future. My goal for therapy is to be supportive and helpful to the client as he/she journeys to find happiness and contentment in life.

I look forward to meeting you, and I am grateful to be going on this journey with you!

From where I started to where I am today is a 2,000% improvement and I attribute most of that to Jessica since she has directed and encouraged me every step of the way! I am going to stay with her till I know for sure I am out of the woods.

Thanks Jessica.

We have worked with Jessica for about 4 weeks in both a couples setting and individually. Jessica provides an open and honest perspective and has quickly delved into the heart of our challenges providing insight and tools to allow us to meet the challenge head on and work through it. She has a very calm and caring demeanor and we always find meaning in our discussions with her. We both highly recommend Jessica.

Jessica has paid close attention to detail. She has been dead on. I love the convenience of this format and it is easier for me to open up. I have enough faith in Jessica that I would love to do face to face counseling with her. I have been in and out of therapy for 4 yrs now. But I have really clicked with Jessica. She has been a lifeline for me.
