About Me

Welcome! My name is Jessica Emelia, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University. I have over 14 years’ experience working as a professional counselor/therapist, having worked in multiple private practices and social work agencies throughout the Chicagoland area.

My clinical specialties include helping adults with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, women’s issues, weight loss, life changes/decisions (life coaching), and general mental health support.

My counseling style is warm, empathic, encouraging, comfortable, supportive, nonjudgmental, and motivating. I work with you to help manage your symptoms and improve your day-to-day functioning, focusing on the here-and-now, while also exploring past issues which may be affecting your life. I am also very interesting in mindfulness, helping people gain greater self-awareness, and increasing one’s ability to live in the space of the present moment.

I look forward to working with you!

Jessica is so smart and caring. She's a true gem of a practitioner and I was honored to work with her.

Jessica is very good at listening. She does not judge and gives her honest opinion on all my problems, even when I am anxious about the outcomes. Since talking with her I have had the courage to be honest about my feelings as well as to further my own educational endeavors. She has also been there to help me through processing my grandpa's disease. She is wonderful.

Jessica has been a huge help to identify problems I didn't realize I had. She has been instrumental in keeping me in counseling as well.

I am still getting to know Jessica, but in the few weeks we have been talking, she has shown herself to be a really thoughtful, considerate and caring counselor. She has taken the time to understand and appreciate the intricacies of my issues in a really open-minded, honest and generous way, and her insights have been truly helpful.
